Volunteer

We value our volunteers not only because they play a critical role in making DCFF a success, but because volunteers are often the first impression that our supporters and filmmakers receive. No matter the roles or responsibilities, our volunteers are respected for their enthusiastic presence and essential contribution to the DCFF reputation.

Volunteers will receive festival tickets based on the number of hours worked. DCFF does not discriminate on the basis of gender, ethnicity, nationality, age (except for those who are 17 and younger), sexual orientation, disability, religion, creed, or political belief.

Film Screeners & Screenplay Readers

Are you passionate about film, and want to contribute to community building here in Tacoma? You may be a perfect addition to our team of film screeners! Each screener is required to review at least 15 films (of varying lengths/genres) by the end of November 2021. Films are shared digitally, and review forms are completed through an easy-to-use online form.

Applications closed.

Each screenplay reader is required to read all short script submissions to provide critical assistance to the DCFF staff and jury during the selection process. Our guidelines state that submissions must be between 3-30 pages. All submissions will be shared with our reader team after the final October 29th submission deadline, and we would need feedback from everyone about all scripts by December 3rd.
