It seemed a nearly impossible feat: to start an independent-independent film festival in a town already entrenched in wonderful and established film and arts organizations. But here we are; we’re sharing films, stories, and experiences with the people of Tacoma – at the Blue Mouse Theatre, a local legend, nonetheless. I am thrilled to welcome you to the first annual Destiny City Film Festival.
This festival was born out of our passion for film, for sharing incredible stories with our friends, neighbors and fellow Tacoma citizens. We are a city very familiar with acknowledging our inspirations and capabilities and keeping our noses to the grindstone until we achieve our goals. Why else would our beloved city have the nickname, “The City of Destiny”? At DCFF, we’re channeling the culture, energy, and life that resonate throughout Tacoma every day. It is that dynamic passion that makes our city stand out – and it’s also what makes a story or film impact us more than others.
Now, get ready to learn, engage, be entertained, and have fun over the 4 days of DCFF. Don’t miss top-quality films, unbeatable storytelling events, and a chance to share an experience with your fellow Tacomans.
